The Committee considered applications for planning permission received by the Head of Development Management and Building Control under the Town and Country Planning Act 1990, and took into account the oral representations made by members of the public and applicants and their agents.  

 

The update report of the Head of Development Management and Building Control was noted in accordance with the urgency provisions of Section 100 B (4) of the Local Government Act 1972 to ensure that Members had before them all the relevant facts and information about the planning applications set out in the agenda.  

 

The Committee resolved that, in the event of recommendations being amended at the meeting in light of debate, or other representations made by members of the public, applicants or their agents, the task of formalising the wording of conditions and/or reasons for refusal is to be delegated to the Head of Development Management and Building Control.

INFORMATION ITEM: SOUTH GROVE SITE C

Minutes:

The Committee received a presentation by the developer for a proposed scheme at South Grove Site C, Brunner Road, E17. The Committee were reminded that the scheme is currently at pre-application stage and a formal application for planning permission had not yet been made. 

 

The Committee asked questions about the location of affordable rent, shared ownership, and purchasable units; the number of family homes; disabled parking; the tenure of the disabled units and the adaptability of those units; the parking spaces allocated for the health centre; and the play areas for children aged over 11.

Minutes:

Having heard the representations of local residents and the applicant, Members expressed concern about the noise impact from the operation of the sub station and delegated authority to the Head of Development Management and Building Control to explore options to further reduce noise and, if necessary, to add appropriate conditions accordingly. 

 

Resolved:

 

That planning permission be granted, subject to further consideration being given to noise reduction, for the reasons detailed in the committee report and update report for application 183249 for installation of substation, alterations to fencing and installation of gates to front to allow access.
